Cloudbuster Balloons: Heavy Nylon Tether Line vs. Pennant Line

Modified on Wed, 23 Apr at 10:31 AM

Cloudbuster balloons are large balloons made from heavy-duty latex, designed to float high in the sky for maximum visibility. Ranging from 4 to 8 feet in diameter, they're ideal for outdoor events, festivals, and more.

There are two types of lines used to tether a Cloudbuster balloon: a Heavy Nylon Tether Line and a Pennant Line.

Heavy Nylon Tether Line:

Heavy nylon tether lines are built for strength and stability. They are made to withstand heavy winds, sun, and long-term use. These lines keep the cloudbuster balloons anchored in place, preventing them from drifting or snapping during any outdoor events. It is recommended not to use this line on smaller-sized latex balloons because adding additional weight  (ex,  ribbon, flags, lines, etc) will affect float times.

Pennant Line:

A pennant line is a decorative line often attached below cloutbuster balloons. It features colorful flags or stremers and adds a visual impact, helping attract attention from a distance. These lines can be cut to any desired length and are reusable. It is not recommended to use pennant lines for balloons 5.5 ft or less because the weight of the line will affect float times or cause the balloon to not float at all.
