The Canadian Toy Association (CTA) is a non-profit trade association founded in 1932. The CTA represents businesses that create and deliver toys, and youth entertainment products for kids of all ages. The CTA advocates for child play-based learning, toy safety, and the growth of the Canadian toy community.

Toys For The North is a volunteer initiative in association with The CTA. Members donate over $45,000 worth of toys each year, to remote and impoverished Canadian communities.

The CTA works alongside Health Canada to provide industry information about regulatory processes. The association also provides the public with information about The Toy Association’s The Genius of Play initiative.

Canadian toy safety standards are developed and enforced by Health Canada, and strongly recommends that parents and guardians review labels and warnings before using toys.
